Cross-country skiing
The Marcialonga starts in Moena
Every winter, usually on the last Sunday of January, thousands of cross-country skiers start from Moena for 70 km through the Val di Fassa and the Val di Fiemme.
The course
From Moena the race climbs the Val di Fassa to Canazei, turns back down the valley and continues into the Val di Fiemme through Predazzo, to the finish in Cavalese. It is one of the most famous long-distance cross-country races in the world, with skiers from all over Europe.
Sleep in Moena the night before
The start is early in the morning: staying in Moena means no car or shuttle at dawn, and you can try the track in the days before. Marcialonga nights are the first to sell out in the valley, so book well ahead. On race day some roads in the valley are closed or slow.
For supporters
You can watch the skiers go by from the village and along the valley floor. For the rest of the week, ski on the Lusia and San Pellegrino slopes and across the whole Dolomiti Superski area.
