Moena – Sorte – Peniola – Medil by MTB

    12 km · +530 m · ≈ 1 h 45

A scenic loop above Moena: up to Sorte, Malga Panna and Malga Peniola, back through Medìl. Short but with steep climbs. Between Malga Panna and Malga Peniola, and between Medìl and the sports ground, the surface is loose and there are blind bends: ride slowly, walkers use it too.

  • Mountain bike · Moderate

Moena – Val San Nicolò by MTB

    34 km · +810 m · ≈ 3 h 30

The cycle path to Pozza, then the classic steady climb up Val San Nicolò among meadows and huts to the San Nicolò waterfalls; back the same way. Busy with walkers and families: watch out for the taxis and the road train between Pozza and Baita Ciampiè.

  • Mountain bike · Moderate

Moena – Passo Costalunga – Soraga by MTB

    27 km · +1060 m · ≈ 3 h 30

Almost all on forest roads through the woods up to Passo Costalunga, below the Latemar and near Lake Carezza. Back through the scenic hamlet of Tamion, then Larcioné and Soraga, and on the cycle path to Moena. Take care at the Soraga roundabout.

  • Mountain bike · Moderate

Moena – San Pellegrino – Fuciade by MTB

    32 km · +1100 m · ≈ 4 h

The classic loop from Moena: up the whole San Pellegrino valley to the Fuciade basin and back on forest roads. Slow down between Someda and Ronchi: walkers and farm vehicles use it.

Moena – Alpe Lusia by MTB

A hard climb from Moena to Alpe Lusia, with the steep stretch to Le Cune, and a descent on forest roads. For fit riders.

    Sellaronda MTB Tour

    96 km · +660 m · ≈ 9 h 45

The four-pass loop around the Sella group by mountain bike, with the help of the lifts (Dolomiti Supersummer card). From Moena take the cycle path to Campitello (about 17 km), which is on the loop, and come back the same way. Clockwise (orange signs) the loop is 62 km with 8 lifts and about 370 m to pedal uphill; anticlockwise (green) 58 km, 6 lifts and about 1,050 m. It takes a full day.

  • Road bike · Demanding

    Four-pass loop by road bike

    105 km · +2340 m · ≈ 8 h 30

Pordoi, Campolongo, Gardena and Sella around the Sella group: one of the most famous rides in the Dolomites. From Moena take the cycle path to Campitello (about 17 km), then the road towards Canazei up to the Lupo Bianco junction and the loop of about 51 km; back the same way. Start early or avoid July and August because of the traffic; on the Sellaronda Bike Day (June and September) the passes are closed to cars.

These are just a few of the valley's many rides. They all start and end in Moena; for the two Sellaronda rides the cycle path takes you to Campitello, on the loop. Distances, elevation gain and times are approximate and include the way back; stretches ridden both ways are drawn once. Before you set off, check the weather, roads and lift times on the official websites, where you will also find many more routes and the GPX tracks ('Details' links).
